Babysitting
March 2015 - August 2019
I used to babysit various children. I needed to know their likes, dislikes, allergies, and hobbies to entertain them. I have learned a lot from babysitting children. It has taught me the importance of paying attention to children's behaviour. It is critical to observe them because doing so allows you to understand why they behave the way they do.
Story Garden
September 2019 - January 2020
During my eleventh-grade year, I volunteered at a story garden. I used to read stories to children aged 3 to 6. I asked the children to choose books for me to read, which intrigued their interest and motivation. It is critical to identify children's interests so that they can focus on the activity and want to learn more. My responsibility was to keep them interested in the story I was reading so they could enjoy and learn.
BridgeWay Family Centre
September 2022 - November 2022
During my undergraduate studies, I was assigned to BridgeWay Family Centre. I learned how to interact with children and their families during this placement. I created learning plans based on the children's interests, which resulted in the learning plans' success. I made meaningful connections with children and their families, which helped me gain confidence, and most importantly, I realized that this was 100% my passion, for which I am grateful.
LAMP EarlyON
I was placed at LAMP EarlyON during my undergraduate studies. During this time, I created a welcoming and inclusive environment for the children and their families. My colleagues and I designed a positive atmosphere in which we planned and prepared activities based on the children's interests, which is closely related to what they can expect in the Kindergarten classroom.
